The Kensington Palace gardens
April 3 - 6, 2014 -- What European adventure would be complete without a traditional English breakfast followed by afternoon tea in London? We spent a long weekend in the city and had such an amazing time, that by the end of the second day we had already decided that we could easily make the move to London... if the opportunity presented itself. The city is electric with cars and pedestrians filling every street and sidewalk. Yet we could step into Hyde park (or any other park, really) and feel immediately transplanted into the peaceful countryside.

May 2-7, 2014 -- We began planning our trip to Scotland without a lot of direction. We knew there would be plenty of beautiful scenery and I was looking forward to visiting the birth place of Scotch whisky. It was also going to provide a nice change of pace as we left behind the museums and churches of our typical European adventures and experienced a natural, undeveloped countryside. We booked our flight and our rental car and then relaxed into our couch to watch the latest James Bond thriller, Skyfall... our plan began to form.
